Flooded Village

Sited along Galveston's flood prone harbor; The proposal uses the motif of a flooded coastal village to unify two disconnected portions of downtown Galveston.

The project naturally filters pedestrians through the outdoor market as they travel from the shopping district to harborside entertainment at Pier 21.

 Temporary Stalls

To protect against frequent high water; all conditioned spaces were raised 6 feet above ground. Modular market stalls enable quick assembly and disassembly in times of crisis.
